Michael Bartholomeusz, Ph.D. is an Independent Director at Group1, appointed to help guide the company through its next phase of product introduction and growth. He is a global technology executive and board director with a track record of scaling emerging technology businesses across advanced materials, electronics, renewables, and battery technology.

Dr. Bartholomeusz previously served as CEO of TruTag Technologies, and before that led HzO, where he helped transition the company from pre-revenue to broad commercialization with adoption by major consumer electronics OEMs. Earlier in his career, he was CEO and Co-Founder of AQT Solar and held senior leadership roles at WC Heraeus, where he expanded a thin-film materials business to market leadership. He has extensive experience in Asia building sales/manufacturing operations and executing joint ventures and acquisitions. He is an accomplished technologist with over 25 granted and pending patents and has been widely published.

He also brings direct battery-sector experience through his involvement with lithium‑metal battery company Cuberg (acquired by Northvolt), where he served in leadership as the company scaled.
