Professor Brian Korgel, Ph.D.

Energy Strategy and Policy Advisor

Brian A. Korgel is Director of The University of Texas atAustin Energy Institute and the Rashid Engineering Regents Chair Professor inthe McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering. His work spans nanomaterialsand energy technologies, and he serves as an Associate Editor of Chemistry ofMaterials. He was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2018 forcontributions to the synthesis and applications of nanocrystals, nanowires, andtheir assemblies, and has also been recognized as an AAAS Fellow and recipientof the AIChE Professional Progress Award. He has co-founded Innovalight andPiñon Technologies and has led major industry–university research programsfocused on next-generation energy materials.

At Group1, Professor Korgel supports the strategicpositioning of Group1 as it related to energy policy.
